The Sliding Door Company Gives Back to Make-A-Wish Foundation!

Make-A-Wish foundation

When a 5-year-old girl with severe epilepsy needed a bedroom as part of her living room, The Sliding Door Company got it DONE! At the request of the Make-A-Wish foundation, we used an L-shaped room divider to create a room within a room, so one incredible girl with special needs would never sleep far from her family again.

A Partnership with a Purpose

The Sliding Door Company has always looked for ways to give back to the communities we serve, so, when the Make-A-Wish foundation approached us with one little girl’s heart-warming request, we jumped at the opportunity to make her life a little easier, a little more comfortable, and a little happier.

This is our second project to help someone in need, and it was an honor to work with the foundation, which helps children with life-threatening medical conditions realize their dreams. Over the past four decades, the charity has granted the wishes of more than 285,000 children throughout the United States. These days, with more than 33,000 active volunteers, it’s able to make one wish come true about every 34 minutes.

Of course, Make-A-Wish can’t do it alone. They rely on the kindness of businesses and individuals across the country to donate the time, money, and resources needed to make these children’s dreams a reality.

A Room Within a Room

A Room Within a Room

That’s why they asked The Sliding Door Company to chip in. With our lineup of innovative interior design solutions, we were in the perfect position to help one family overcome some of their toughest obstacles.

The girl’s request was simple: She wanted a bedroom of her own, yet she needed to be near her family at all times in case of a medical emergency.

Unfortunately, building an entirely new room would have been costly and time-consuming. Fortunately, we were able to provide a simple solution: glass room dividers. The easiest way to add a room within a house, room dividers require no demolition, no remodeling, and no general contractor.

People all over the country rely on our high-quality room dividers for on-demand privacy and ease of access. Of course, in this case, it wasn’t a matter of mere convenience, but of medical necessity. By adding a private bedroom within the living room, we were able to make one home a little better, one family a little safer, and one little girl’s life a little brighter.

The Sliding Door Company is proud to give back to the community. Stay up on our latest blog posts to learn more about how we continue to make a difference in people’s lives through our ingenious interior doors solutions, as well as our ongoing charitable works.
